This Mexican soup transforms traditional turkey-day flavors into something south of the border and decidedly spicy.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon oil

½ yellow onion, minced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

½ cup diced tomatoes in juice

4 cups chicken broth

2 cups turkey meat, shredded

1 15-ounce can hominy, drained

For serving:

Avocado

Cilantro

Lime

Radishes

Shredded cabbage

Instructions:

Cook the onion, garlic, and chili powder in oil over medium heat in a large pot for 5-7 minutes. Add the tomatoes and broth and bring to a simmer for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to come together. Add the turkey and hominy and cook until heated through. Season to taste with sea salt and chili powder.

Ladle into soup bowls and serve with avocado, cilantro, lime wedges, radishes, and shredded cabbage.
