Another Memorial Day has come and gone. Everybody feels good for having watched the required number of parades; for having listened to the usual blasts of hot air, exuded from the usual politicians, extolling the sacrifices made by “Our Veterans.” And our President has made the usual stiff-legged walk, with the floral wreath, at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington Cemetery.

In the meanwhile, the wounded from the Iraq war are beginning to come home in increasing numbers for (mis)treatment at Walter Reed Hospital and for the interminable delays combined with callous indifference at Veterans Administration facilities. Incompetence and confusion, the dominant features of the Bush Administration in connection with the Iraq war, continues — now, with the returning Iraq war wounded and those scheduled for their second, third or fourth Iraq deployment.

Post Traumatic Shock Syndrome, the “hidden” casualty number, may well be a far greater casualty percentage in the Iraq war compared with earlier wars because of the repeated redeployments of reserves in an Army already stretched beyond the limit. Neither has it been sufficiently understood how different the Iraq war is compared our nation’s previous wars.

Every soldier knows that each trip in the “Sunni Triangle,” or in almost any other part of that wretched country, is a date with possible death or injury at the hands of an Iraqi who is indistinguishable from any other, an Iraqi insurgent who has become increasingly more adapt at killing Americans. It is only a question of the number of trips it takes before a soldier’s increasing mental strain becomes Post Traumatic Syndrome, a true illness that will stay with him for the rest of his life.

For the first time in our nation’s history of waging war, we are in an “Assymmetric” war, one in which our enemy’s weapons are simple, inexpensive and easy to make compared to our sophisticated and expensive weaponry, requiring massive and long lead research and development time and costs. Ironically, our enemy’s kill rate is greater than ours. It costs the enemy far less to kill one of our soldiers than it takes for us to kill one of theirs.

Seemingly, there is no end in sight. Can any one predict with even a 50-50 chance of success that, in the foreseeable future, the Iraq government will be able to enforce stability and security throughout the country?

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel: the Bush Administration has warned that American troop withdrawal at this time will lead to utter chaos in Iraq. Since Bush & Co have been consistently proven wrong about virtually everything for the past six plus years — ergo this means that we should immediately withdraw all of our troops.

Withdrawal will be the spur to action for all concerned in bringing stability to Iraq itself, to all of its Middle Eastern neighbors, especially including Saudi Arabia whose aristocracy doesn’t want to see Iran become the dominant figure in that region.

Besides, could anything be worse in Iraq than what has been going on? It would be a Win Win for the US. We would put an end to the loss of our blood and treasure. And then we could concentrate on the real War on Terror, striking at Al Queda in Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in Stupidstan and elsewhere.

Before I answer this we need to clear up one very important issue and that is the issue of whom we are talking about. Things that we often think are very straight forward frequently turn out to be not quite as straight forward as we first thought. They are still simple to understand (too simple for some) but not as straight forward.

The issue here is this: which God are we talking about – god the Devil or God the Godhead, consisting of the two personages – The Father God and The Lord Jesus Christ? This issue is crucial, for one is a God (Godhead) of love and the other is a god of hate, e.g. the god of all wars. He is the god that sets men against men and wherever there is a war the Devil is involved through his powerful agents on earth – the real powerbrokers behind the politicians. The fact that mankind in general is oblivious to the fact is by the by.

The Devil god is the god of this world – this age. When people use that expression or exclamation ‘Oh my god!’ they are not blaspheming God’s name, they are making blind reference to the Devil. The Father God is not their God because they do not believe in Him so in their eyes and in their minds He does not exist, yet they are still saying ‘Oh my god!’ This is a god they claim to be theirs and of course he is their god, the god of this world (age) – the Devil.

2 Cor 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Now there he is, as mentioned in Holy Scripture, the one who has blinded the minds of them i.e. those people or rather the great majority of mankind who do not believe and cannot believe. Notice: lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. There we have it, one of the most over read passages of Scripture in the Holy Bible and a Scripture that mainstream Christianity completely ignores. This Scripture plainly tells us that mankind cannot believe and it is not a matter of human choice to believe. Satan the Devil – the god of this world, has blinded them to The Truth i.e. Jesus Christ and His glorious Gospel.

So why is the devil the god of hate? He is the god of hate because we human beings are destined to hold positions of higher authority than him and just the thought of this makes him wild with jealous anger? Some of us (The Elect) will actually judge angels: 1 Cor 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? The Devil also knows that his days are numbered as the god of this world (age). He knows his days of power are soon to come to a dramatic end and his power taken away from him. We are now living in the last days of the last days and he knows it and his hatred for mankind grows stronger each day.

OK, that’s enough about the Adversary, but what about The Father God, does He hate anything or anyone? He doesn’t hate people, but He does hate the things people do. What things – sinful things? The Father God hates sin – all sin. There is not a sin that He does not hate and that is why He sent His Son The Lord Jesus Christ to deal with sin once and for all.

Hang on a minute, what about all those people who died in the flood – men women and children? What about all those Canaanites The Lord told Joshua and the Israelites to slaughter and wipe out, again, men women and children? If that’s not hateful, what is? Then there were all the first born males in Egypt at the time of the Exodus, followed by the Pharaoh’s army in the Red Sea, and all the people of Sodom and Gomorrah – this all sounds very hateful to me I hear you say. Yes and there are many in mainstream Christianity that think that way too – especially their clergy. These Biblical historical events give them all kinds of problems and that is because they do not understand The Godhead, they do not understand the “potter and the clay” arrangement, nor do they understand The Godhead’s plan for mankind or the “big picture”. In their deluded narrow view and mindsets they think the ‘God is Love’ portrayal of God’s character is a contradiction of the God that brought about the above cataclysmic events. 1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

The Father God’s vengeful acts also go against their insipid liberal contaminated minds. Minds that have been corrupted and poisoned by a hate filled false gospel on one hand, and liberal politics on the other. Many of these liberal ideas originated with the ideology of the liberal reformers and do-gooders who came to prominence in 19th century Britain and the USA. Am I saying liberal reformers were/are bad people? No, they were well meaning people, totally misguided yes, if they thought they were doing God’s will, but misguided just the same. We can now see from the events that took place in Old Testament times why people in general think God hates mankind or at best they think He is capable of very hateful actions. Now because they do not believe in God and cannot believe in God they can never understand God. What about ‘Christians’ though, for there are many them who have a similar opinion of God and also consider Him hateful? In theory they are supposed to know God and know Him personally, yet when you quiz them about The God that destroyed all those people in times past they are usually stumped for an answer. Why, they’re believers aren’t they!? Well yes in theory they are but in reality they’re not. How do I know this? I know this because they believe a lie and part of that lie is the lie of the teaching that all unbelievers will be thrown into hell fire – about 95%+ of mankind!!

Just recently I was made aware, via a TV documentary, of the teachings of a so called minister of God in the USA who states quite clearly, on bold colourful placards, that God hates America, God hates Britain and God hates Sweden too. According to this ‘minister’, God hates all these countries because of their tolerance towards homosexuals and their lifestyles. In brazen ignorant boldness, this ‘minister’ sends forth his followers (mostly his own family) across the USA instructing them to tell their fellow Americans that God hates America, God hates fags (homosexuals) and God hates those in power who send their young men to war in Iraq and Afghanistan. This family group actually attends the funerals of deceased military personnel to tell their loved ones they died because God hates America and because God is not blessing their military campaigns. Needless-to-say God will also send them all to hell unless they turn from their evil ways. This is what this so called minister of God preaches and teaches. The thing is, is any of this stuff Biblical, is any of it The Truth or is it just evil religious bluster, hogwash and hot air? To find out we need to turn to the Scriptures:

Scripture 1 – Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

And so all Israel shall be saved, this means that all the Israelites and all the Jews that have ever lived from the time of Jacob/Israel to this day will be saved. Now the question we have to ask ourselves here is this. How many of these Israelites and Jews will have been homosexuals in this life and yet will be saved? How many of these homosexual Israelites and Jews will have been Americans? Answer, thousands upon thousands of them and all of them will be saved. There it is, a complete contradiction of everything this ‘minister’ is saying.

To expound further, here we have a little conundrum. This ‘minister’ is telling us that God hates all these homosexual Americans and is going to throw them all into hell – a fiery hell no doubt. Now this is very interesting because while he is saying that, The Lord Jesus Christ has promised that His Father will enable them all to be saved. How will He do that, by giving them new hearts of flesh instead of hearts of stone and turning ungodliness (which includes homosexuality) from Jacob? It looks as though what this ‘minister’ is saying is the opposite of what the Godhead is saying and planning on doing!! Well would you believe it – I hope so?

I will continue with the remaining Scriptures in Part 2 and reveal whether or not this so called minister is a minister of God or a minister of the Devil.

The opportunities for getting free advertising for your product or services are limited only by your own imagination and energies. There are so many proven ways of promoting your own objectives without cost that it literally boggles the mind just to think of listing them.
One way is to write an article relative to your particular expertise and submit it to all the publications and media dealing in the dissemination of related information. In other words, become your own publicity and sales promotions writer. Get the word out; establish yourself as an expert in your field, and “tag-along” everything you write with a quick note listing your address for a catalog, dealership opportunity, or more information.

Another really good way is by becoming a guest on as many of the radio and television talk shows or interview type programs as possible. Actually, this is much easier to bring about than most people realize. Write a letter to the producer of these programs, then follow up with an in-person visit or telephone call. Your initial contact should emphasize that your product or service would be of interest to the listeners or viewers of the program – perhaps even saving them time or money.

Other ways of getting free or very inexpensive exposure include the posting of advertising circulars on all the free bulletin boards in your area, especially the coin-operated laundries, grocery stores, and beauty and barber shops. Don’t discount the idea of handing out circulars to all the shoppers in busy shopping centers and malls, especially on weekends. You can also enlist the aid of the middle school students in your area to hand out circulars door-to-door.

Some of the more routine methods include having a promotional ad relative to your product or service printed on the front or back of your envelopes at the time you have them printed with your return address.

Be sure to check all the publications that carry the kind of advertising you need. Many mail order publications just getting started offer unusually low rates to first-time advertisers; a free-of-charge insertion of your ad when you pay for an order to run three issues or more; or special seasonal ad space at greatly reduced rates. And there are a number of publications that will give you Per Inquiry (PI) space – an arrangement where all orders come in to the publication, they take a commission from each order, and then forward the orders on to you for fulfillment.

Many publications will give you a contract for “stand-by” space. In this arrangement you send them your ad, and they hold it until they have unsold space, and then at a price that’s always one third or less than the regular price for the space you need, insert your ad. Along these lines, be sure to check in with the suburban and neighborhood newspapers.

If you send out or publish any kind of catalog or ad sheet, get in touch with all the other publishers and inquire about the possibilities of exchange advertising. They run your ad in their publication in exchange for your running an ad for them of comparable size in yours.

Finally, there’s nothing in the world that beats the low cost and tremendous exposure you get when you advertise a free offer. Simply run an ad offering a free report of interest to most people – a simple one-page report with a “tag-line” inviting the readers to send money for more information, with a full page advertisement for your book or other product on the backside. Ask for a self-addressed stamped envelope, and depending on the appeal of your report and the circulation of the publication in which your ad appears, you could easily be inundated with responses!

The trick here, of course, is to convert all of these responses, or a large percentage of them, into sales. This is done via the “tag-line,” which issues an invitation to the reader to send for more information, and the full page ad on the back of the report, and the other offers you include with the complete package you send back to them. As mentioned at the beginning of this report, it’s just a matter of unleashing your imagination. Do that, and you have a powerful force working for you that can help you reach your goals.

The new Pew Research Center Social and Demographic Trends survey measured dissatisfaction and pessimism in close to 2500 participants. The data indicates that Baby Boomers worry more than any other generation. And a recent study from the University of Chicago suggests that the boomer generation has never really been happy. One hypothesis is that they grew up wanting to make the world a better place – and it’s not.

No one could deny that the national conversation has become depressing. Some find it hard to get up in the morning, when all they hear about is tumbling home prices, the war in Afghanistan or Iraq and record oil prices. Pundits exclaim that the American dream is dying on the vine and we are all suffering from bankrupt spirits.

But are things really that bad? What’s happening may be a natural change in the seasons of life. Cultural pain is normal in crises and perhaps the Baby Boomers just haven’t been adversity-tested. After all, isn’t necessity the mother of invention? Follow some of these suggestions as you develop your inner strength and resiliency:

1. You know about physical fitness. Apply some of these principals to becoming more emotionally fit. Discover your usual emotional pattern and start a training program. In addition to nutritious eating and regular exercise, practice noticing the negative concerns that get your attention, how you end up feeling and what active steps you can take to change your thoughts.

2. Rather than seeing the glass half empty, turn your challenges into opportunities. Release your mind from worries, most of which never happen anyway. Take it one day at a time and accomplish what you can without dwelling on the ‘what ifs.’ Worrying takes a lot of time and energy – it’s counterproductive and destroys your peace of mind.

3. Free yourself from resentment and practice how to forgive. If you hold on to grudges toward your business partner or past hurts from your friends, you’re the only one who will be miserable. Let go of feeling sorry for yourself and you’ll make room for more positive experiences. As your attitude changes, your day-to-day life will become more pleasant.

4. Embrace simplicity and appreciate what you have. Enjoy your family and colleagues. Go outside on a cloudless night and look at the beautiful sky. Take your family camping for the weekend and roast marshmallows over the fire. Eat sandwiches on a park bench with a co-worker and visit during lunch hour. Give back by volunteering at a homeless shelter, soup kitchen or a boys and girls club.

5. If you’re feeling gloomy in these rollercoaster times, invite friends over for a potluck dinner and have everyone bring their signature dish. Turn the conversation into a creative and supportive revival of the spirit. Discuss innovative ways to save on groceries, to use less gas, to network for a new job.

6. Don’t expect so much. Unrealistic expectations about things and people lead to disappointment. Stuff loses its shine and appeal. Built-in obsolescence makes you a slave to the latest style and the next upgrade. It never ends, and then you feel dissatisfied with what you have. In some situations try not to expect anything, and whatever comes your way will be a blessing.

It is true that, as financial crises go, this one is very personal. But perception doesn’t always match reality. According to the Pew Research results, the boomer generation enjoys the highest incomes of any age group surveyed. They are less likely to have been laid off and less likely to have trouble paying for medical care or housing. In fact, fewer of them said that someone in their household had to go to work in the past year or take on an extra job to make ends meet.

Home prices will stabilize, oil prices could stop going up and, for all we know, the global economy may be resilient. The bottom line is that contentment is elusive for some people. In the end, it’s important to realize that fulfillment isn’t to be achieved as a goal in itself, but rather as the result of living a good life.

Generally speaking, the answer is “yes”, although, there are some exceptions.

First, you need to open a self-directed account, with a custodian that offers the option to their clients. Once opened and funded, mortgages, notes and deeds of trust can be held within the account.

Cash balances can be used to purchase raw land, private homes, apartment building, condos, duplexes, commercial property, shopping centers and even, mobile homes, if you want. All of the expenses related to the property management must come from the account. All rental income or profits must be returned to the account.

Can you use IRA money to invest in real estate that you plan to reside in? The answer is “no”. The account cannot be used to purchase a home that you live in now or that you plan to live in at some point in the future.

The same applies to homes for your children and other direct descendants, as well as your parents, grandparents or great-grandparent. It falls under the “indirect benefit rule”. Transactions must be beneficial to the account and your future, not your present day situation.

All transactions have to be conducted carefully or you may have to pay heavy taxes. If the account owns an office building, you can’t rent a space there. Your kids can’t live in an apartment building held within the account. There are other examples, but you probably get the idea.

Can you use IRA money to invest in real estate to be resold for a profit? Yes, many smart investors have used funds within their retirement accounts to buy, remodel and resell homes for a profit.

All of the funds required for purchasing, making repairs or performing general maintenance must come from the account. All of the income and profits must be returned to the account.

By using their retirement accounts, instead of personal funds, investors make more profits, because they avoid capital gains taxes. With a Roth account, the profits are never taxed at all. As long as you wait until retirement age to take disbursements.

The most profitable deals are “cash deals”. So, you would need un-invested cash within the account. Some custodians charge an additional maintenance fee for cash balances. You should always compare the fees that companies charge before you sign up with them.
